International Webcasting Association Appoints New President, Executive Director in Expansion to Meet Growth Demands
Pioneering Webcasting Industry Association Enters New Era with Rapid Adoption of Broadband, Streaming Media

Washington D.C. – The International Webcasting Association (IWA) announced today, the appointments of Mr. David Gardy as IWA President and Mr. Kevin Shively as IWA Executive Director in preparation for a major association expansion to meet demand for future growth. Gardy and Shively, both members of IWA's Board of Directors, take on these new roles in response to IWA board consensus that a re-orientation of the organization is necessary to support the rapid, broadband-powered acceptance of webcasting and streaming media applications by enterprise, government, media and international associations.

"I am pleased to have the opportunity to serve as President of the IWA and work with Kevin as the association enters this exciting new phase of growth," stated Gardy, CEO of TVWorldwide.com. "The IWA has been instrumental in promoting international awareness of the webcasting sector through its early adoption cycle and now is facing the new challenge of serving the needs of a young, robust industry energized by the near ubiquitous presence of broadband, with many profitable new applications."

"Dave and I are committed to leading the IWA with a comprehensive plan to revitalize the organization in supporting its membership," commented Shively, Vice President of Beethoven.com. "We will be instituting a range of changes to reflect the needs of growing enterprises and individual IWA members, beginning with the establishment of a responsive benefits package."

Shively and Gardy indicated that the new benefits package would be announced shortly along with a calendar of live and on-demand webcasts and industry events through the end of 2003 that will serve as a basis for outlining new IWA initiatives and for soliciting industry and membership feedback in the process. The benefits packages for members include hands-on industry participation, and a new dues structure that is appropriate for individuals and corporations, making sure that all can participate whether a start-up, educator, to an employee of a large corporation. More information regarding this organizational transformation will be made available on the IWA web site shortly at www.webcasters.org. Suggestions, please contact the IWA at info@webcasters.org
