The Adsertion Network Is the
Top Sales Network in August According to Arbitron Internet
Broadcast Ratings
NEW YORK, September 15, 2003 –The Adsertion
Network was ranked the top sales network, with 4,913,206 hours
of Total Time Spent Listening (TTSL) for the month of August,
according to Arbitron Internet Broadcast Ratings.
Radio@AOL Network and LAUNCH were the top-ranked
commercial Internet broadcasters, with 25,936,299 and 14,481,309
hours of TTSL, respectively. Total Time Spent Listening is
the sum total of hours tuned by listeners to a given station
or network. MUSICMATCH was the top-ranked non-commercial Internet
Broadcaster, with 7,629,301 hours of TTSL.
MUSICMATCH Artist Match was the top non-commercial
Internet broadcast station, with 2,644,975 hours of TTSL.
AOL Top Country was the top commercial station, with 1,202,027
hours of TTSL.
The top Content Delivery Networks
(CDN) were Live365, with 9,997,750 hours of TTSL and StreamGuys,
with 2,007,132 hours of TTSL. The Total Time Spent Listening
for these Content Delivery Networks is the sum of all tuning
to stations streamed by the CDN, including commercial and
non-commercial stations.

TTSL
(Total Time Spent Listening), sometimes referred to as Aggregate
Tuning Hours (ATH), is the total number of hours tuned to
a given station or network in the reported time period.

Cume Persons is an estimate of the total number of unique listeners who had one
or more listening sessions lasting five minutes or longer
during the reported time period. This estimate is derived
using an algorithm that takes into account unique media
player GUIDs, unique IP addresses and other variables during
the reported time period.
-
The ratings may not
reflect all tuning for the measured stations or channels
since Arbitron may have received incomplete or unusable
server data.
-
As Arbitron Internet
Broadcast Ratings (powered by MeasureCast technology) transitions
to a subscription-only service, some stations previously
reported in the ratings have elected not to subscribe to
the service and will no longer be included.
-
The 128K MP3 and all
Ogg streams for Virgin Radio/1215 AM & 105.8 FM are
not currently measured by Arbitron Internet Broadcast Ratings.
-
Arbitron had incomplete
data for WOXY.com during the week of August 25, 2003. As
a result, the station was not included in the August ranker.
